Our window has come alive with the most beautiful art installation by Nadia Hernandez , last Thursday evening saw the unveiling of "Traditional Sources" which pays homage to Venezuelan folklore. Nadia has created  these beautiful creatures which are, ( I am sure ) full of good juju.  

Over the past few years British label Folk has garnered a strong following with our discerning male customers, the creative urbanites ( you know you are!) who embrace the brands ethos of quality fabrics, attention to detail and subtle touches ( always duly noted by the architects and graphic designers ), Folk is a label that doesn't scream "fashion label " but rather speaks to a lifestyle. A lifestyle that up until a year ago was mens only ! But hey thats not fair is it ? so Introducing the Folk womens collection

Ok, sadly we are not in Florence at Pitti Uomo, these pictures come courtesy of the New York Times , but I have one word STYLISSIMO !All these signori are looking so inspiringly fantastico that it makes me want winter to hurry up so that we can wear knitted ties and polka dot socks and cashmere coats and woollen trilbys. Sigh.

Happy new year! Here are our resolutions : We will wear penny loafers with crepe soles by Parisien shoe brand Adieu. When its cold outside we will wear cashmere cardis with rainbow hearts from Chinti and Parker. We will always wear the original breton stripe tee shirt from Armor lux because it goes with everything, and stripes will never go out of fashion.

We are open all the way up until around 5pm on December the 24th, then its a few days off for some lobster sucking, bubbles drinking,pavlova baking,present opening,book reading ,magical summer Sydney days! Back open on Friday the 27th.

What a fantastic year it has been, so THANK YOU dear Standard Store customers for all your support this year, where would we be without you ?

We love good retail, no trip to New York would be complete without a trip to Opening Ceremony, ( or Tokyo, London or LA for that matter ). What haven't they done ? From collaborations with Chloe Sevigny to Adidas, worn by stars as diverse as Rihanna to Miss Piggy, holding well curated revelry to celebrate fashion night out or record releases.

These canines were inspired by our neighbourhood friends, an eclectic mix of Pug, Cavoodle, Shnauzer and other adorable breeds, with larger hounds of fine heritage and of course their dear owners who may wish to post letters to santa on their pooches behalf
