WHO ARE YOU? Nicola Reindorf
WHERE ARE YOU? Surry Hills
WHAT DO YOU DO? Mrs Standard Store
What do you love about the city?
The sheer beauty of it… The coast, the harbour… it's hard not to be seduced by Sydney. Especially when the sun shines…it positively sparkles. It's also hard not to be seduced by Sydney's sexy optimism.
Most inspiring stores, spaces galleries?
White rabbit gallery in Chippendale for contemporary Chinese art
MCA, such an iconic location, it can be just as fascinating looking out the windows at the beautiful harbour as it is looking at the art!
Jardan furniture, their new store on Oxford Street is really beautiful…Especially that pink staircase!
Victor Churchill meats….Yep it's a butchers and I don’t eat meat…but wow what a fit out!
Carriageworks, for the farmers markets on Saturdays and the the art in the gallery spaces.
Lucy Folk Playa in Bondi Beach, the Sydney flagship store of Australian jeweller Lucy Folk.
secret eating drinking spots
GDR bar at the back of Redfern Continental… It's like stepping back in time, and there are no windows… So you can go early but pretend it's midnight.
Tokyo Bird in Surry Hills does great cocktails, Japanese whiskey and delicious Japanese snacks.
St Peter in Paddington, the best and most creative seafood in town.
Ester in Chippendale, consistently fabulous food.
Best coffee?
I don’t drink Coffee anymore, but for true caffeine aficionados Artificer on Bourke St.
Local stores (vintage, interiors, beauty, pharmacy?)
Luna beauty apothecary for the best facial in town and lotions and potions sourced from around the world.
The Standard store on Crown St (obviously!!!)
Happy Sailor barber shop - good old fashioned service with a smile.
The Organic Bread Bar on South Dowling St - best bread and pastries made on location daily.
Where to stay?
The Old Clare, so much to discover on your doorstep.
Primus hotel in the city for its roof top pool
Hotel Palisade in the rocks… It's small…Small enough that you could book out all the rooms with a group of friends and take over the place. The rooftop bar is stunning and a short stroll away from Barangaroo - which has great restaurants, and our 3rd Standard Store!
