Shirts Shirts Shirts

The button up shirt is a staple in almost all of our wardrobes - no matter who you are and how you identify, it's a mainstay of our lives year round. In summer it's a breezy alternative to a t-shirt if you're wanting to look a little smarter - in winter it's the perfect base under a knit or a jacket. There are so many styles of button up shirts - it can be slightly overwhelming to try and find the one that feels best on you and in your wardrobe. To give you a hand, we've rounded up our picks of the season for you for you to choose the right one (or few) for you!

Every season Universal Works gives us a shirt that can transcend both work and play, this seasons Panel Square Pocket Shirt is no different. Constructed in a beautifully soft lightweight cotton poplin with a mix of prints designed in-house at Universal Works, the button-down shirt is perfect worn unbuttoned for lazy days or buttoned-up for when you need to be in the office.

Forét's pieces always have such a beautiful sensibility to them. The cuts and fabrics are incredibly well considered and always very tactile. We have two button up shirts from the brand this season. One in the Hornet Seersucker and the other Camp Patch Shirt made from a two stripe cotton poplin - both with button down collars. Easy to wear but with beautiful details that elevate them and make the every day special.

Each Kardo piece is a story in itself, and ones that we're very proud to tell at T Standard Store. Take the Rohit Shirt for example, which is made from a handloom scarf that has been woven featuring a distinct stripe selvedge. The fabric is then hand-tied tightly using a natural dyeing process called Bandhani. The craft is performed by tying threads at several points and then dip-dyeing the fabric which produces a variety of patterns. The Ronen Shirt in camo is similarly intricate as it uses cotton seersucker which has been dyed in 4 colours and hand-cut into various shapes. The shapes are then stitched into a camouflage pattern with a quilting technique. The Ronen Shirt in red has been clamp dyed, which is a resist-dyeing technique where fabric is folded, clamped between shapes, and dyed to create unique patterns. The clamped areas resist dye resulting in striking geometric designs and makes each piece unique. Style for winter layered over a long sleeve shirt or on their own under a blazer!

These are only a few of the shirts we have this season - have a look online or come in-store and chat with our lovely staff to find the right one for you.
