We're so excited to be stocking a new YMC x Cubitts design: the Akira, alongside previous favourite styles - the Killy and Tomba.

The Akira was inspired by the personal style of legendary Japanese filmmaker Akira Kurosawa who was known for wearing sunglasses while directing. The new style also pays homage to the 1990s - which is the decade YMC was founded! 

Each pair of Cubitts glasses are finished by hand - with shaping, sanding, engraving, and hinge-pinning, and then tumbled over oak chips for a lustre and one final polish. We love the diversity in shape and style but we also love that they're made to be worn forever.
