Mona Kowalska is celebrating A Détacher’s 20th anniversary this year, and her final collection has just landed on The Standard Store rails as Mona steps away to focus on other projects. Each piece will now become a collector's item.
The collection was shot in Mona's Brooklyn home—in the kitchen, the walk-in closet, and surrounded by artwork and books, styled exactly how Kowalska imagined during the design process. Below are some of our favourite looks.
For her final season, Kowalska hits to logo trend in a subtle tonal print, A for the label, balloon sleeves and off the shoulder dresses that make for wearable art. Collective items that span a lifetime. The knot details on the balloon sleeves required days of tweaking the pattern, and a blouse with asymmetrical, wrap-effect sleeves was similarly laborious.
