Bernstock Speirs at The Standard Store We’ve finally got our hands on (and heads in) our long-awaited Bernstock Speirs stock! Yes, its in the country, and yes, its on the floor! The latest shipment includes the cult Bunny Hats, in red, navy, white and black with white ears – part Japanese street-cat, part Surf-hound, part serious-stylista. Hop into store quick to snaffle yourself one of these quirky little numbers from legendary hatters Bernstock Speirs. The London based label has gained notoriety for its kooky take on traditional millinery, inspired by the city’s underground club and music scene. The hats are sporty-cool, made using unconventional fabrics and techniques and crafted into unique designs focussed on delivering quality and detail. The designers behind the brand, Paul Bernstock and Thelma Speirs met whilst studying fashion, set up their label together in 1982 and have been together ever since. Their fan list reads like role call of style icons including; Marion Cotillard, Karl Lagerfeld and Kirsten Dunst, and to add weight to an already hefty resume, the talented crew have also collaborated with an equally stellar gang of creatives – our own Richard Nicholl, Emma Cook, Jean Paul Gaultier and Peter Jensen.
